Theresa Collins
Owner/Instructor
ABOUT THERESA
Theresa taught language arts, theatre, journalism and PE for 29 years in Boulder Valley School District and retired in 2014. She has a Bachelors and a Masters in Theatre and has directed over 100 productions. She continues to direct, act, and design/build sets in area theatres.
After retiring, she realized her new teaching path would be as a yoga instructor and later a group fitness instructor. Theresa is an E-RYT-500 and YACEP, receiving her first 200 and 300-hour certifications through Soul Tree in Lafayette and her second 200-hour and 300-hour yoga certifications through Vesselify (FKA 90 Monkeys) in Boulder. Theresa is also certified group fitness and Zumba instructor.
Theresa teaches alignment-based yoga for longevity, and she designs sequences that are safe, effective, challenging, and yet accessible. She creates a fun, inclusive space for all her students.
Theresa opened Sattva Yoga because she saw a need. There are many yoga studios in nearby Longmont, but none in Carbon Valley. People should be able to practice yoga with their neighbors! She also wanted to create a space where people feel welcome and part of a community, where laughter and camaraderie are normal parts of coming to the studio.

Saskia Cervantes

She completed her 200Hr training in 2013, and later her 300Hr Advanced Alignment Based training with Jason Crandell. In her classes you will work to find your inner strength, motivation & determination to help you grow on and off your mat! There is sure to be a little silliness, and big smiles as you flow and find new depths to your spirit, strength and practice!

Yasibit “Yasi” Nava
Yoga Instructor
ABOUT YASI
Originally from Venezuela, Yasi lived in Miami for many years until having recently moved to Colorado. After practicing yoga on and off, she began seeing yoga as a way of life seven years ago, devoting herself into a daily practice of asanas, pranayama and meditation. In 2018, she began her 200hrs vinyasa certification and later in 2020 she received a second 200hrs certification in power vinyasa. Now, she’s deepening her knowledge and working towards her 300hrs certification.
Teaching gives Yasi the opportunity to create a beautiful community of empowered beings. Her main goal is to create a place where individuals can come together to flow, feel, connect, and leave everything on the mat.
Besides yoga, she loves hiking, kayaking and spending time in nature. Her love for the mountains is one of the main reasons she decided to move to Colorado. Yasi can easily spend hours next to a river, enjoying the sounds and her surroundings.

Andrea Van Sambeek
Yoga Instructor
ABOUT ANDREA
Andrea encountered yoga for the first time in the early 2000’s and was amazed at what a difference it made in her life. A casual practice brought along with it a sense of ease in both body and mind. As her practice developed, she discovered just how much lessons learned on the mat were applicable to daily life. She also found such joy on her mat. It is this combination of lifelong learning and simple delight she brings to her teaching practice. The physical benefits of asana practice are incredible, but they are only the beginning. She firmly believes our yoga mats are the perfect place to practice kindness, compassion, strength, balance, play, contentment, and all the other essential aspects to a life well lived. At the heart of her teaching philosophy is the idea that the sacred doesn’t have to be serious. Each class is an invitation to embrace the imperfections of life and to laugh along with the universe. Each class is also an opportunity to find stillness of mind and spirit. Andrea’s classes grant full permission to be exactly as you are in each moment. She looks forward to seeing you on your mat soon.

Erin Juergens
Yoga Instructor
ABOUT ERIN
Erin is an animal lover, polyglot, born teacher, and eternal student. An experienced educator, her time spent in high school classrooms has helped to shape her approach on the mat. Erin brings humor and lightness to well-planned and structured classes, which challenge her students to embrace the harmony and tension of each posture, seeking progress over perfection. Described as “effective and compassionate,” she inspires practitioners of all levels to push past negative self-talk and welcome the journey of the practice. Off the mat, she loves to sip tea in the sunshine, experiment with needlecrafts, binge (and re-binge) The Great British Baking Show, and spend time with her husband and four cats.
